It’s a historic city in the north of Mallorca that was once the capital of the island during the Roman occupation. The evidence is visible, as you can visit the remains of the Roman amphitheatre and the ancient city of Pollentia (that's how they named it).
Behind its imposing doors are its picturesque streets where it’s always a pleasure to stroll, especially on Tuesday and Sunday, which are market days. In addition, it’s full of cafés, restaurants and shops, which makes it a very lively area. It’s also possible to visit the museum, which contains an interesting collection of Roman artefacts and ceramics, in addition to being able to go to its modern auditorium with a varied program of leisure and entertainment.
On the other hand, we have the area of Port d'Alcúdia, a tourist area on the north coast with beaches that stretch for about 10km south of its marina. The coast leads you to the s'Albufera nature reserve, a perfect place for bird watchers.
Also, if you like golf, don’t miss the excellent 18-hole course that you will find in this municipality, which has spectacular views of the bay.
